African FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

Ethiopia 1-0 Zimbabwe

Ethiopia got their first win in Group G after defeating Zimbabwe 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Following a defeat to Ghana last Friday, Ethiopia struck in the final stages of the second half after Aschalew Tamene converted a penalty in the fourth minute of time added on.

After two rounds of matches, South Africa sit top of the group followed by the Black Stars, Ethiopia and the Warriors.

Cape Verde 1-2 Nigeria

Nigeria made it two wins from two matches in Group C after coming from behind to defeat Cape Verde 2-1 on Tuesday evening.

After falling behind to Dylan Tavares' 19th minute striker, Victor Osimhen pulled the visitors level on 29 minutes before an own goal from Kenny Santos handed Nigeria the win.

Congo 1-3 Senegal

Senegal cemented top spot in Group H with a 3-1 victory over Congo in Brazzaville.

Boulay Dia, Ismaila Sarr and Sadio Mane were on target for the Lions of Teranga while Silvere Ganvoula bagged a consolation for Congo from the penalty spot.

Zambia 0-2 Tunisia

Tunisia maintained their winning start in Group B after defeating Zambia 2-0 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Wahbi Khazri opened the scoring from the penalty spot on nine minutes, before Anis Ben Slimane doubled the lead in second-half stoppage time.

Malawi 1-0 Mozambique

Richard Mbulu's first-half strike handed Malawi a 1-0 win over Mozambique in their second Group D clash on Tuesday afternoon.

Tanzania 3-2 Madagascar

Tanzania maintained their unbeaten start in Group J after defeating Madagascar 3-2 at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

Erasto Nyoni, Novatus Dismas Miroshi and Faisal Salum got the job done on Tuesday afternoon.

Equatorial Guinea 1-0 Mauritania

Iban Salvador's 59th minute penalty was enough to give Equatorial Guinea their first win in Group B as they overcame Mauritania.

Burkina Faso 1-1 Algeria

Algeria were denied the chance to make it two successive wins after playing to a 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso.

Sofiane Feghouli gave the African champions the lead in the 18th minute, but Abdoul Tapsoba's 64th minute strike ensured both sides walked away with a share of the spoils.

Angola 0-1 Libya

Libya secured a slender victory over Angola to maintain their winning start in Group F on Tuesday.

Omar Al Khoja's 43rd minute strike was enough to hand the visitors three points on the night.

Sudan 2-4 Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau registered their first win in Group I after thrashing Sudan at the Al-Hilal Stadium.

The visitors raced into a three-goal in the first half thanks to a brace from Piqueti and a solitary strike from Federic Mendy, while Mama Balde added the fourth late in the second.

Mohamed Abdel Raman pulled two goals back for Sudan, who remain without a win after two games.
