Al Ahly was eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup after two draws and a defeat in their three group games, finishing the tournament with a thrilling 4-4 draw against Portuguese giants FC Porto.

Speaking after the game, Riveiro admitted he was happy with his team's performance but rued the missed opportunities.

"We played a very good match and tried to control the game," Riveiro said.

"The match itself was good, so was the performance, and the weather conditions were ideal."

He added: "There were many missed opportunities, but we tried to show our quality in the game against Porto.”

Despite failing to get the win against Porto, Riveiro was happy with the Al Ahly fans who showed up in support of the team and admitted that it felt like the game was being played in Cairo, adding that he was not used to experiencing an atmosphere like that from his fans.
