Los Blancos were unchanged from the draw with RB Salzburg last week, although Kylian Mbappe was named in the matchday squad for the first time this tournament.
Juventus should have taken the lead inside the opening five minutes when Randal Kolo Muani was sent through on goal, however the French striker sent his lob onto the roof of the net with only Thibaut Courtois to beat.
Los Blancos, meanwhile, struggled to carve out any serious openings in the final third even though they enjoyed most of the possession against a Juventus side, who defended deep in their own half.
The Spanish giants had to wait until the 45th minute to carve out an opening as Federico Valverde was given time and space from 25 yards out and unleashed a powerful strike that was brilliantly tipped away by goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.
However, Madrid broke the deadlock eight minutes after the break when Trent Alexander-Arnold did well to pick out young striker Gonzalo Garcia, who nodded home his third goal of the tournament.
That proved to be Garcia's final major involvement as the young striker came off after 67 minutes and was replaced by Mbappe, who came on for his first appearance in the competition after missing the group stage phase through illness.
Even with Juventus chasing the game, Xabi Alonso's charges were still able to hold on to the ball for long periods, especially after the introduction of veteran midfielder Luka Modric as the half drew to a close.
Los Blancos were able to see out the closing stages of the second half and booked their spot in the final eight of the competition.
