Paris Saint-Germain booked their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals after defeating Bayern Munich 2-0 on Saturday evening.

Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Bayern Munich

Date: 05 July 2025

Venue: Mercedez-Benz Stadium

The French side nearly got off to the perfect start when Desire Doue won the ball high up and surged forward before unleashing a strike from the edge of the box that sailed inches wide of the upright.

The chances continued to fall for Luis Enrique's charges as the first half went on, with Fabian Ruiz squandering a glorious chance by firing over the crossbar with only Manuel Neuer to beat from just inside the box.

Bayern, meanwhile, had to wait until the 37th minute for the first big chance when Kinglsey Coman did well down the left flank before picking out Harry Kane, who sent his header over the crossbar.

The Bundesliga champions had the ball in the back of the net on the stroke of halftime when Dayot Upamecano nodded home a free-kick, but the celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled out for an offside.

PSG should have broken the deadlock shortly after the halftime break when Bradley Barcola was slipped through on goal, but Neuer rushed off his line to deny the Frenchman in a one-on-one situation.

The French were nearly gifted the opening goal in the 74th minute when Neuer's failed clearance landed at the feet of Ousmane Dembele, who had the goal at his mercy but sent his first-time strike wide of the mark.

PSG got their reward in the 79th minute when Doue, who was wanted by Bayern last year, picked up the ball outside the area and sent a low strike into the near corner with Neuer well beaten.

Enrique's charges had to finish the game with ten men when defender Willian Pacho was shown a straight red card for a dangerous studs-up challenge on Leon Gortezka.

That was not the final red card as PSG were reduced to nine men in second-half stoppage time when substitute Theo Hernandez was also shown a straight red card for elbowing his opponent.

The red cards made no difference as PSG went on to seal the win in the sixth minute of time added on when Dembele bagged his first of the competition by turning home a cross from Achraf Hakimi.
