“I received offers from Turkey, Qatar and Egypt,” Sherif said, as per Ahram Online.
“I delayed my decision because I was hoping to return to Ahly. I’m back to break my own records.”
“No player is guaranteed anything here. I have to train hard and prove myself again.”
Sherif, who scored 58 goals in 151 appearances for Al Ahly, revealed his conversation with club president Mahmoud El-Khatib.
“He told me: ‘We were determined to sign you, we were just busy over the past weeks.’”
The Egyptian striker becomes the sixth player to join Al Ahly under Riveiro following the arrivals of Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, goalkeeper Mohamed Seha, Ahmed Ramadan and Mahmoud Trezeguet.
