The Red Devils were knocked out of the global spectacle earlier this week after failing to beat FC Porto, drawing 4-4 with the Portuguese giants. Early on in his tenure with the Club of the Century, Riveiro already seems to be coming under intense scrutiny for the team’s performance at the newly expanded tournament — and now he has more issues to contend with in the formative stages of his career with the Egyptian juggernauts.
According to El Watan Sports, fresh from their Club World Cup exit, Malian international Aliou Dieng has submitted a transfer request to the club. The 27-year-old was out on loan in the oil-rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Al Kholood during the 2024/25 campaign.
Ahly even went as far as requesting his early return to the squad in order to reinforce the team for their exploits in the United States of America. However, the defensive midfielder was used sparingly during the competition — he only featured in their final game of the group stage, having been left on the bench against both Inter Miami and Palmeiras.
The same report now states that the Bamako native has submitted a transfer offer from an unnamed Saudi club, as he is seemingly keen to return to the Middle East ahead of the new season.

It is understood that the former Orlando Pirates boss and the rest of the Ahly administration are studying the offer, as they are unsure whether to let go of one of their stars in a campaign where the team will likely play many matches domestically and on the continent.
