The Bundesliga giants will attempt to become the second team in history to win a sextuple after already securing the German top-flight title, the DFB Pokal, UEFA Champions League, the German Super Cup and the UEFA Super Cup over the past 12 months.

They will face the winners of the match between Al Ahly and hosts Al Duhail in their semi-final on 8 February, and have registered all their big guns for the tournament.

Bayern have named a full-strength 23 -man squad for their trip to Qatar, including Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez, who missed Saturday's Bundesliga game after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Bavarians will attempt to lift their first Club World Cup since 2013, when they beat Raja Club Athletic 2-0 in the final.

Overall, they could claim their fourth global crown, having also won the Intercontinental Cup – the preceding version of the current tournament format – in 1976 and 2001.
