On the final day of the transfer window, a transfer saga of sorts was put to bed when the Portugal international finally completed his move from Atletico Madrid to the home of the Blaugrana.
News out of Spain suggested the Catalan giants waited that long to complete a deal due to their ongoing financial struggles, as they needed to secure certain departures before acquiring the services of the 23-year-old on a season-long loan.
It seems those same financial struggles have impacted the young attacker's wages as well after he confirmed he took a significant salary cut in order to make his dream of playing for the five-time European champions a reality.
"Yes, the truth is, I gave up a significant amount of money from my salary," the 32-capped international admitted to Mundo Deportivo.
"But well, I needed to change, I needed to go to a place where I could practice my football and as I said, I always believed that this would be the ideal place. Things are going well and I had to make that effort to have joy playing again."
Felix is enjoying his football after his ill-fated time with Atleti and Chelsea, having already scored three goals in his opening three games for Xavi Hernandez's side.

"I honestly did not expect this start. I believed, and still believe, that this is the ideal place for me but the truth is that things are going very, very well," the ex-Benfica wonderkid added.
