Barca Transfer News: Club 'Discuss' Selling Two Shock Stars

Barcelona have reportedly considered selling both Pedri and Gavi due to their financial situation.

Barcelona have reportedly held internal talks over the potential sales of two of their most valuable players, with four European giants having expressed interest in the duo.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the LALIGA champions have internally discussed the possible sales of midfielders Gavi and Pedri.

The club's financial situation has seen their spending power wane, while they have also had high-profile issues when it comes to registering players due to the Spanish giants' salary limit rules.

Despite the departures of high earners Gerard Pique, Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in recent times, they have still been stubborn in hanging on to their promising rising stars, but that is not to suggest they have not considered their options.

The report claims, after it was recently said Manchester City enquired over the availability of Lamine Yamal earlier this year, that Barcelona chiefs have discussed a world in which they let go of Gavi and Pedri, two of their most valuable players.

Transfermarkt estimates Pedri's value to be €100 million (R2 billion), while they value his Spain international teammate at €90 million (R1.8 billion).

These two players would command close to club-record transfer fees if the Catalan giants did seriously consider cashing in on them to help boost their economic position, but it is further claimed it is a path those in the boardroom are not yet willing to go down.

While the topic has been broached, Barcelona see the two midfielders as the future of the club despite the advantages that would come with selling them, with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain having all reportedly enquired over the duo's availability.
