Arsenal will meet Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup after defeating Oxford United 3-0 on Monday night.

Teams: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

Date: 09 January 2023

Venue: The Kassam Stadium

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta rang the changes, as goalkeeper Matt Turner, Rob Holding, Fabio Vieira, Mohamed Elneny and Alber Sambi Lokanga were handed starts.

Arteta's side dominated proceedings in the early stages of the encounter but they were unable to carve out any serious chances in the opening 25 minutes.

Oxford, meanwhile, were quite happy to sit back and deny their Premier League counterparts at every attempt although they did not add much going forward at the other end.

The hosts went on to carve out the first chance two minutes after the break when Matty Taylor got on the end of Brown's ball over the top, but Turner rushed off his line to deny the forward.

After introducing Oleksander Zinchenko and Granit Xhaka, the Gunners went ahead just after the hour mark as Elneny nodded home a free-kick from Vieira.

The lead was doubled with 20 minutes to play when Vieira turned provider once again to delightfully play in Eddie Nketiah, who rounded goalkeeper Edward McGinty to slot into an empty net.

Any hopes of a late Oxford comeback were dashed in the 76th minute, with Nketiah completing his brace with a lovely dink over McGinty after being played in by Martinelli.

Arteta and his troops will now shift their focus to Sunday's North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
