FA Cup Quarterfinal

FA Cup Quarterfinal

Manchester City advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Championship side Peterborough United.

City manager Pep Guardiola went with a strong line-up even with the Manchester derby coming up on Sunday.

However, City' star-studded team were unable to break down Posh in the opening 45 minutes and had to wait until the 60th minute for Riyad Mahrez to open the scoring.

The second goal arrived seven minutes later, with big-money signing Jack Grealish firing past Steven-Andreas Benda for only his fourth goal of the campaign.

Middlesbrough claimed another big scalp after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday night.

After seeing off Manchester United in the previous round, Boro got the all-important goal in extra-time courtesy of a strike from Josh Coburn.

Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace overcame Stoke City to secure their spot in the next round.

Africa Cup of Nations winner Cheikhou Kouyate put Palace ahead in the 53rd minute, but Stoke levelled matters five minutes later through Josh Tymon.

The Eagles had the last laugh though as Jaïro Riedewald snatched the winner in the 82nd minute to send his side to the quarter-finals.
