Julian Naglesmann named the same side that started the win over Greece in their final warm-up clash last week, while Scotland have recalled Scott McTominay and Che Adams.

The hosts got off to the perfect start when Joshua Kimmich collected a long ball from Toni Kroos before teeing up Wirtz, who sent a first-time strike into the back of the net from the edge of the box on ten minutes.

The lead was doubled nine minutes later as Kai Havertz cut inside to play in Jamal Musiala, who took one touch before rifling the ball beyond Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn with a superb strike.

While Scotland failed to provide any real threat in the opposition box, Germany were awarded a penalty three minutes before the halftime break after Ilkay Gundogan was fouled by Ryan Porteous, who was shown a straight red after a review on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor.

Havertz took responsibility for the national side and calmly dispatched his spot and sent Gunn the wrong to extend the advantage before the interval.

Scotland were a lot more livelier in the second period but were still struggling to force Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer into any serious saves.

Germany coach Nagelsmann opted to make a double change for the final 30 minutes as Havertz and Wirtz made way for Leroy Sane and Niclas Füllkrug to freshen up the attack.

The changes paid off for the host nation as they secured the third goal in the 69th minute as the ball dropped kindly for Fullkrug, who controlled well before sending a powerful strike into top corner.

Scotland did bag a consolation in the final three minutes when Antonio Rudiger unfortunately diverted the ball into his own net after Scott McKenna headed the ball into the six-yard area.

However, there was time for Germany to add another goal to their lead as substitute Emre Can finished off a well-worked passing with a lovely finish from the edge of the box.
