Man Utd 'Take' Drastic Action After Arsenal Loss

Man Utd 'Take' Drastic Action After Arsenal Loss

Manchester United have called off their end-of-season awards ceremony.

Manchester United have reportedly taken drastic action after losing their 14th league match of the season to Arsenal on Sunday.

The Red Devils suffered yet another defeat in the Premier League on the weekend, a 1-0 loss to title hopefuls and rivals Arsenal, who had previously only won once at Old Trafford since 2006.

A first-half goal from Leandro Trossard secured all three points for the Gunners as they claimed their 27th league victory of the season, which is a new club record.

The result has seen United head coach Erik ten Hag come under even more pressure, with the 20-time English champions sitting eighth on the table, and has led to the club cancelling their end-of-season awards ceremony.

According to The Athletic, the ceremony was set to be held on 20 May, a day after their final league game of the campaign, but this has now been called off by Ten Hag and the football leadership team.

There has been little to celebrate for United this season, but it is believed their upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City is the main factor in the decision to cancel the event.

Award winners will reportedly still collect their accolades later this month, just not in the traditional way, like in the 20221/22 season when the ceremony was called off following the end of Ralf Rangnick's spell as interim coach.

Questions still remain over Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford, with new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe yet to publicly back the Dutchman since his arrival at the club earlier this year.
