Former Ivory Coast captain Yaya Toure has rejected rumours that he strongly dislikes his countryman Didier Drogba.
Reports: Real Consider Offering Superstar To Man Utd
Media in the African country have often speculated that Toure and Drogba do not see eye to eye due to their religious differences, but the midfielder has refuted those claims.
"My best friend was Drogba," he told ESPN.
"I don't understand how people were saying I hate him.
"I loved to stay with him and play with him. The second one was my brother Kolo, and the third it was Gervinho."
Toure took over Drogba's captaincy when the latter retired in 2014, leading Ivory Coast to success in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
