Thierry Henry Criticises Arsenal Fans
Henry insisted that he never thought about leaving Arsenal, but wasn't sure if his mentor Arsene Wenger would be staying or going at the time.
"I never considered leaving Arsenal." Henry told beIN Sports.
"I was 29 years old and in form, I thought all the guys left and I did not know if Arsene [Wenger] would be staying.
"It was not easy and when I left I cried, I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm a competitor and I had to leave."
The Arsenal Legend joined Barcelona in 2007 for a fee of 21 million pounds and revealed that at the time of his time of arrival, Pep Guardiola told him he would be the fourth choice striker.
"When I arrived at Barcelona, Guardiola told me that I was the fourth-choice striker and I would not be a starter," he added.
"I accepted the challenge and I fought, and competition makes you increase your level. People talk about luck, but you need to create your own. When you work, you get the reward at the end."
Henry played a total of 709 games throughout his career and scored a total of 344 goals along the way.
