After completing his loan switch to Chelsea, Gonzalo Higuain has reportedly become the Blues' second highest-paid player, earning more than club superstar Eden Hazard does.

The Argentine has joined Chelsea on a six-month loan deal, with the Premier League side having the option to extend the contract for another season for £15.6 million (R281 million) or buy him permanently for £31.2 million (R562 million), as confirmed by Juventus.
According to the Daily Star, the 31-year-old agreed a deal worth £270 000 (R4.9 million) a week with the Blues, making him the second-highest earner at Stamford Bridge behind N'Golo Kante.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is believed to earn £290 000 (R5.2 million) a week in London following his recent contract extension.
Higuain follows in second place ahead of Hazard, who is understood to pocket £200 000 (R3.6 million) per week at Chelsea. The Belgian's contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, and reports suggest he has already rejected two massively improved deals to commit his long-term future to the club, amid rumours linking him with Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Chelsea became Higuain's fifth club in Europe, with the Argentine receiving the coveted No. 9 shirt at the Blues.
