With David de Gea yet to agree to a new deal at Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to offer the Spain shot-stopper a lucrative deal in a bid to pry him away from the Premier League giants.

De Gea, who has clinched four Club Player of The Year awards in the past five years, is said to be demanding an improved deal with a weekly wage of £400 000 (R7.4 million) to stay at Old Trafford.

However, with contract talks between the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper and United having seemingly hit a deadlock over the past few months, the Ligue 1 giants have entered the fray and are happy match De Gea's salary demands.

According to The Independent, PSG are willing to fork out £60 million (R1.1 billion) to sign the 28-year-old, who is apparently considered an ideal long-term candidate to replace 41-year-old Gianluigi Buffon at the Parc des Princes.

The Red Devils' decision to make Alexis Sanchez the club's highest earner with a reported wage of £400 000 (R7.4 million) a week is said to have caused friction in United's dressing room, given that the Chile international is yet to replicate the form that made him a household name in England with Arsenal.

As a result, De Gea is said to be unhappy, but will consider penning an extension should the club increase their offer.

The Independent also claimed that Serie A giants Juventus are monitoring De Gea's situation with keen interest too. However, first-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny's performances this season is said to have convinced the club to not dip into the transfer market for a new stopper.
