Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to be given £300 million to spend if he becomes Manchester United manager.
Man Utd City To Go To War For Neymar
According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils have promised the Portuguese tactician a massive war chest to rebuild the team next season.
It has been rumoured that the former Real Madrid boss has been lined up to replace current manager Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and some reports in Spain claim United will offer the former Chelsea mentor a deal worth £15.5 million a season over three years.
A source close to the English giants confirmed Mourinho will be backed financially, but the club is expecting the Portuguese to only bring in superstars.
"If Jose comes in, he will be given whatever it takes to make United the best again," the unnamed source told the Daily Star.
"But it isn't just about how much is spent, what matters is how it is spent because United need the right players to take the forward.
"Only genuine world-class stars will be looked at."
