Premier League outfit Arsenal are reportedly in contact with Spanish giants FC Barcelona over the possibility of signing one of their stars who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France.
Barca Star: I Was Surprised By World Cup Snub
According to the Daily Express, the Gunners' head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, is trying his utmost to get former Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele to the Emirates before the transfer window closes.
In the wake of the Blaugrana signing Brazilian starlet Malcom from Bordeaux last week, the north London side apparently feels they may have an excellent opportunity to sign the Frenchman, who, so far, has not lived up to expectations since his arrival in LaLiga.
It has been suggested that Unai Emery believes Dembele could be the final piece in his Arsenal puzzle, with the manager said to be looking to win the English top flight trophy in his first season in the country.
The Gunners boss has apparently told Mislintat to do his best to get the deal over the line – and the head of recruitment knows all about the France international, having brokered his move to Borussia Dortmund from Rennes in 2016.
Since Mislintat's arrival at Arsenal, he has overseen the purchases of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
