New Gunners boss Unai Emery has already made one addition to his squad for the upcoming season, after picking up Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is expected to the club's next signing in the coming weeks, and according to the Daily Mirror, he will not be their last.

According to the English publication, Arsenal have drawn up a seven-man shortlist for the tournament in Russia, starting with FC Barcelona and France winger Ousmane Dembele.

The Frenchman made a big-money move to the Blaugrana last season but injury and the expected arrival of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid has put his future at the Camp Nou in doubt.

Monaco's Thomas Lemar is not new to being linked with the Emirates Stadium side as former manager Arsene Wenger tried to sign him in the January transfer window. Emery is also said to be a big fan of the winger, and would apparently like the club to pursue him once again.

Argentine Cristian Pavon is expected to be one of the surprise packages at this year's tournament and has already caught the attention of the north London club.
