Mudryk Finally Off The Mark As Chelsea End Winless Run

Mykhailo Mudryk bagged his first goal for Chelsea

Mykhailo Mudryk bagged his first goal for Chelsea, who ended their three-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over Fulham on Monday night.

Premier League

Result: Fulham 0-2 Chelsea

Date: 02 October 2023

Venue: Craven Cottage

Blues coach Mauricio Pochettino made three changes from the team that started against Aston Villa, as Aramando Broja, Axel Disasi and Cole Palmer came in for Nicolas Jackson, Malo Gusta and Raheem Sterling.

The visitors dominated early on and got the breakthrough on 17 minutes when Levi Colwell did well to pick out Mudryk, who controlled well before tucking home from close range.

The lead was doubled a minute later when Palmer pounced on a pass by Tim Ream before playing Broja and while Ream got back in time, his clearance crashed against Broja and sailed past Bernd Leno.

Fulham, meanwhile, struggled to get any attacks going in the first half and they had to wait until the 41st minute for their first chance as Raul Jimenez headed from a corner.

The hosts responded with a double change ten minutes into the second half as Carlos Vinicius and Alex Iwobi replaced Jimenez and and Harry Wilson.

Pochettino's went close to adding a third goal at the other end on 60 minutes when Conor Gallagher pulled the ball back for Ian Maatsen, who saw his first-time crash against the upright before Enzo Fernandez was denied by Leno.

Fulham should have reduced the deficit with 13 minutes to play when Tom Cairney played a delightful cross for Sasa Lukic, who fired straight at Sanchez from six yards out.

That would prove to be the home side's final chance as the Blues held out to claim the clean sheet and their second win of the league season.
