Players With Most Trophies In Football History

Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently won his 32nd trophy after lifting the EFL Cup with Manchester United, so we had a look at where he ranks in comparison to the most successful footballers in history – a list that includes two African stars.

Click through the gallery to see which players have lifted the most trophies in their careers.

The former Sweden striker, who scored a brace against Southampton in that final, has now received winner's medals with seven different clubs – four with Ajax Amsterdam, two with Juventus (although they were later rescinded due to the Calciopoli scandal), five with Inter Milan, five with FC Barcelona, two with AC Milan, 12 with Paris Saint-Germain, and now two with United.

In the ranking for the most successful players, he sits above the likes of Lionel Messi, who has lifted 29 senior trophies with FC Barcelona, Gerard Pique (29), Andres Iniesta (30) and Dani Alves (31).

Ibrahimovic has equalled the trophy haul of African legend Wael Gomaa, who accumulated 29 trophies with Al Ahly and another three with Egypt.

Only Vitor Baia (33), Kenny Dalglish (34) and Ryan Giggs (36) have won more titles than Ibrahimovic.

Egypt's Mohamed Aboutrika is the second African among the most successful players, having won 27 titles during his illustrious career – just one less than former FC Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez.
