The French international was a United player from 2009 to 2012, before leaving on a free to join Juventus.
Many believed, at the time, that the club had decided to let him leave, but Sir Alex Ferguson has often stated that he wanted the midfielder to stay at Old Trafford.
Pogba's mother, Yeo Moriba, has now revealed that her son was highly upset by the treatment he received at United, and even shed tears in Ferguson office.
"I said: 'What? Ferguson coming to my house! He came alone'," Moriba told AFP.
"We had got together with his brothers and we decided: he (Paul Pogba) won't re-sign.
"Ferguson punished him, he didn't play him, Paul was alone. He even cried in Ferguson's office over the way he was treated."
Pogba represented United's senior team just seven times before his exit, and is regarded as one of Europe's most exciting midfielders today.
