Mesut Ozil Set To Break Thierry Henry's Record At Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is on course to beat Thierry Henry's record of 20 assists in a single season after an incredible first half of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign.

Arsenal Go Top With Win Over Bournemouth

The former Real Madrid man recorded his 16th assist of the season against Bournemouth on Monday night, and scored his third league goal in a fine performance that helped his side go top of the table.

Arsenal legend Henry made 20 assists in the 2002/03 Premier League campaign, which remains the highest tally ever in England's top flight.

However, by this stage of the season, the Frenchman had not recorded even half as many assists as Ozil.

With just five assists needed from the rest of this campaign, the German international is set to write his name into Premier League history.

Another Gunner setting records is goalkeeper Petr Cech, who has now kept 170 clean sheets in his Premier League career, more than any other goalkeeper.

Ozil's previous best assists tally came in the 2011/12 La Liga season, when he set up 20 goals in 35 appearances for Real.
