Greenwood left Manchester United in 2024 for £26.6million (R647 million) and signed a five-year deal with French side Olympique Marseille.
He was exiled from the Red Devils in 2022 after accusations of rape and sexual assault surfaced against him, with the club deciding to cut ties with him.
The former England international joined Spanish side Getafe CF on loan in 2023/24 before making his switch to France, where he has netted 19 goals in 33 games in all competitions.
Greenwood is reportedly looking for a return to England, according to The Sun.
The Sun report that a source has claimed that Greenwood, who has two young children with his partner Harriet Robson, wants to come back to England after spells in Spain and France.
"When Mason first left United he loved Spain," the source said. "He and Harriet moved to Madrid and rebuilt their lives."
"He loved the fact he could just play football and his life off the pitch was not the subject of such intense focus," the source continued.
"He was really happy to sign for Marseille and loved living in France. But he’s been abroad for nearly two years and the novelty has worn off," the source added.
Greenwood is reportedly missing his extended family and friends from the UK and a move back to England will suit him again.
“Mason’s family visit but he is very introverted and misses his extended family and the friends he has from home," the source said.
