The young Frenchman, who scored past Joel Robles early in the second half, helped the Red Devils become the first club to score 1000 goals at home in the league.
No other team has managed as many goals at home as United have since the league's inception in 1992. FA Cup holders Arsenal are second on the list with 912 strikes, while London rivals Chelsea are third with 896.
Captain Wayne Rooney, having netted 99 goals at home, is United's highest Old Trafford goalscorer in the Premier League, with Paul Scholes in second place with 59 strikes.
It was a fitting day for the club to reach the milestone as, prior to the encounter, the Red Devils had paid tribute their greatest ever goalscorer by unveiling the newly-named Sir Bobby Charlton stand at the stadium.
"This is a great honour and I am very proud – for myself and my family – that the club has chosen to name the South Stand after me," Charlton told the Manchester Evening News.
"Manchester United has been such an important part of my life and I have so many wonderful memories of this Theatre of Dreams."
