Ever since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2015, the Belgian playmaker has been an ever-present for the English and European champions. However, that could possibly come to an end sooner rather than later.
According to Football Insider, the Mancunians are willing to part ways with the 32-year-old should his injury woes continue.
Over the past three seasons in particular, the goalscoring midfielder has suffered a number of different health issues that have kept him out for prolonged periods, and while his 10 goals and 31 assists may have won them the treble last season, the chiefs at the Etihad Campus are seemingly running out of patience.
De Bruyne is currently out of action and has been since the opening day of the 2023/24 Premier League season after he aggravated a hamstring injury against Burnley.
The two-time PFA Player of the Year is only expected to return in early 2024, and the same report suggests that there is no urgency on City's side to renegotiate terms on a new deal.
The ex-Wolfsburg man's current contract in Manchester runs until 2025, but talks are believed to be only set to take place one year from now.
