According to reports Manchester United's spending spree looks set to continue this summer with Louis van Gaal being handed another war chest in excess of £150 million.
Van Gaal spent over £150m during last summer's transfer window to bring in seven new players, including a British transfer record £59.7m fee for Angel Di Maria, but that figure is expected to rise in order for the Dutchman to build a squad capable of competing with Europe's elite.
United Set To Offer €20m For Atletico's Godin?
Given the funds available, the coach will look to mimic Real Madrid's Galactico policy and aim to secure a world-class player in every position, a desire reportedly shared by United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Van Gaal will hand Woodward a wish list of targets that is thought to include Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels, Roma's Kevin Strootman and Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin in order to build a world-class defence and bolster his midfield options going forward.
United will also have to make a decision on Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, currently on loan at Old Trafford, who will cost around £46m should the move be made permanent. Falcao's loan deal has so far cost United in excess of £6m.
The club makes a huge amount of money from their commercial division, though another huge summer spending spree is being reported they could see as many as 10 players leaving the club.
