Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was more than just a translator during his time at Barcelona, according to Larent Blanc.
Mourinho was hired as an interpreter at Barcelona back in the 90's, when Sir Bobby Robson was in charge, and was asked to stay on in the role when Louis Van Gaal replaced the coach.

Blanc, who was part of the Barcelona first team squad at the time, says Mouirnho was also entrusted in taking training sessions from Robson.
"Robson understood very little Spanish and Mourinho helped him to communicate. He speaks four or five languages," Blanc told BeInSports.
"At the end of a month the players asked him to change their training regime and Robson delegated the job to Mourinho because he could speak with the squad. I think that's where it all began."
The Paris Saint Germain manager believes that Louis Van Gaal was smart to keep Jose Mourinho around when he was installed as manager of Barcelona and believes he made things easier for the Dutchman.
"We knew he was very intelligent and wanted to be a good coach. Van Gaal arrived at the club and was smart enough to keep him on and learn from him. The rest is history."
Chelsea face Paris Saint Germain in their first game of the knockout round of the Champions League, when the competition resumes.
