On Wednesday, the Reds recorded a comprehensive 5-2 win over Merseyside rivals Everton, which extended the club's unbeaten run in the league to 32 matches. That result proved to be the undoing of Toffees boss Marco Silva, however, as the Portuguese manager was sacked just two days later with his side languishing in 18th place in the league.

Silva is not the first Premier League manager to lose his job after suffering defeat at the hands of Klopp's Liverpool, though, with four other coaches suffering similar fates since the former Borussia Dortmund boss' arrival in England. Last year, Slavisa Jokanovic was sacked by Fulham after a defeat to Liverpool, before then-Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was axed after a 3-1 loss at Anfield in December.
Interestingly, in each of the aforementioned matches, Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri found himself on the scoresheet for the Reds, suggesting that he shares his manager's proficiency for bringing about his rivals' downfalls.

In 2017, Slaven Bilic was shown the door by West Ham United after a Mohamed Salah brace inspired Liverpool to a comprehensive 4-1 victory over the Hammers, and his sacking came just over a year after Francesco Guidolin had become the first victim of the "Klopp curse" at Swansea.
