Everton star Romelu Lukaku's father has urged his son to make a move to one of Europe's elite clubs in the upcoming transfer window.
Five Strikers Who Could Be Heading To The EPL
The Belgian forward has reportedly attracted interest from many of the continent's top teams this season, and Roger Lukaku is said to want him to join either Manchester United or Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old's father expects a transfer to happen before the European Championship gets under way next month, but it is believed that Everton will not let his son leave for anything less than £65 million (R1.4 billion).
"I hope and believe that Mino (Raiola, Lukaku's agent) is fair, and that he is acting in the best interest of the player," Roger Lukaku told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
"Romelu will decide his future, but agents have the last word most of the time. I hope and I think Mino Raiola is an honest man.
"Now, with Romelu, it will be quickly arranged. Whether the transfer has been sorted? Almost. I think it will be in place before the European Championship.
"He won't go to Italy, because they keep it closed at the back, too difficult for an attacker.
"What is certain, to continue to make progress, he needs to change clubs, but we are mainly engaged in making the right choice."
The striker hinted that this may have been his final season with Everton during an interview in March.
"I'm 23 years old this summer and I've never played Champions League," Lukaku said at the time, according to the Liverpool Echo.
"I'm really looking for me to measure myself against the absolute top players.
"Whether I make a move to Bayern or Man U? All major European clubs come, for me, into consideration.
"I think my father has mentioned clubs specifically because they play European football."
