Venue: Wembley Stadium

Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan dropped to the bench as Jack Grealish and Savinho were recalled while Pep Guardiola opted for Stefan Ortega ahead of Ederson in goal.

The Cityzens broke the deadlock after just two minutes as Rico Lewis found the back of the net after finishing off a well-worked team move in the box.

Forest, who have been enjoying a good campaign in the Premier League, struggled to get their regular game going in the first half as the City defenders did well to cut off any supply to the Forest attackers.

That proved to be the trend for the remainder of the first half as Forest struggled register a serious effort at Ortega's goal, while City were unable to carve out any opening at the other end.

The Cityzens went on to doubled their lead six minutes after the halftime break through Josko Gvardiol, who got on the end of Omar Marmoush's corner and powered home a lovely header.

Forest went close to pulling on back after the hour mark as Morgan Gibbs-White rattled the crossbar with a powerful strike after some good work by Anthony Elanga.

The woodwork came to City's rescue once again with ten minutes left on the clock as Nigerian striker Taiwio Awoniyi saw his flick rattle the upright before Ortega did well to deny Gibbs-White on the rebound.

Nevertheless, the Cityzens managed to out see out the rest of the half to secure their spot in the FA Cup final for a third season in a row.
