Everton and Swansea City were forced to share the spoils after playing out to a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
The result sees the Swans remain sixth spot, while are unchanged in ninth.
Wilfried Bony should have given Swansea the lead as early as the eighth minute, but the Ivorian failed to slot past Tim Howard from close range.
Leighton Baines came close to giving Everton the lead in the 13th minute, but his free-kick form 25-yards out sailed just wide of the upright.
Jonjo Shelvey could have given Swansea the lead five minutes after the restart but his effort from the edge of the area sailed just wide of the mark.
However, Shelvey was then given his marching orders in the 72nd minute after picking his second yellow card for a foul on James McCarthy.
Phil Jagielka nearly broke the deadlock two minutes later but his header sailed inches over the crossbar.
Steven Pienaar could have won it for Everton in stoppage time but the midfielder headed wide of the mark from close range.
