Result: Manchester City 1-4 Liverpool
Date: 21 November 2015
Venue: Etihad Stadium
An exciting display from Liverpool earned them a hard-fought 4-1 victory over league leaders Manchester City in a tightly contested Barclays Premiership clash at the Etihad Stadium.
The visitors were quickly out the starting blocks as Eliaquim Mangala handed them a first goal with an own goal to send Liverpool into the lead as early as the 6th minute. The Reds continued to dominate the opening exchanges, and before The Citizens could settle, Philippe Coutinho had added another to make it 2-0 after 22 minutes of play.
Jurgen Klopp's men were looking a class abve their opponents as Coutinho forced a superb save out of Joe Hart in the City goal ten minutes later but Hart had no answers to Roberto Firmino's 34th minute effort that extended Liverpool's lead to 3-0.
Firmino almost added to his tally a few minutes later, but it was Sergio Aguero who got the next goal, cutting down the deficit to 3-1 at the half-time break.
The second stanza started off on a slower note, but Hart was called into action once more in the 59th minute after a lovely effort from Firmino. Five minutes later Aguero sent Simon Mignolet to the bottom corner to stop the ball and keep the scores at 3-1.
After a couple of surges forward from the men in red, Martin Skrtel finaly got another one for The Reds as rattled the net to make it 4-1 with ten minutes remaining.
The Reds continued to look threatening but City's defence managed to hold out for the remainder of the game, the final score being 4-1.
