English Premier League Report: Arsenal v Swansea City 15 October 2016

Result: Arsenal 3-2 Swansea City

Arsenal moved level on points with Manchester City after they defeated Swansea City 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners opened the scoring in the 26th minute after Swansea were under constant pressure.

Theo Walcott had the honours hitting a right footed shot from the right side of the six yard box into the bottom right corner, 1-0.

Walcott made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. He hit a right footed shot from close range to the centre of the goal following a corner.

Arsenal were piling pressure. Hector Ballerin's right footed shot from the right side of the box was saved and Walcott scored from the resultant corner.

Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back for Swansea in the 38th minute. He hit a left footed shot from outside the box to the top left corner following a brilliant counter from Swansea.

The game went into the half-time break at 2-1 to Arsenal.

In the 57th minute Mesut Ozil made it 3-1. The stylish midfielder hit a left footed shot from the left side of the six yard box to the top left corner following a superb ball through from Alexis Sanchez.

In the 66th minute Borja Baston gave Swansea a real hope as his goal made it 3-2 following an assist from Madou Barrow.

Arsenal were shocked and started to play cautiously, holding the ball and not making positive attacks.

In the end they held on for a win at home but Swansea were very much in the game until the final whistle condemned them to a defeat.
