Result: Arsenal 3-0 Stoke City
Date: 01 April 2018
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a brace to inspire Arsenal to a 3-0 win over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were without the services of Petr Cech, who missed out through injury.
The visitors enjoyed a promising start to the encounter, with the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Mame Biram Diouf seeing a lot of the ball.
Arsenal had to wait until the 22nd minute for their first real opening when Aaron Ramsey's chip shaved the top of the crossbar.
Arsene Wenger's men took control from then on but they really struggled in the final third and failed to carve out another opening for the remainder of the half.
Ten minutes into the second half, the Gunners went close to breaking the deadlock as Danny Welbeck combined with Mesut Ozil before volleying wide.
Aubameyang should have put the home side ahead on 69 minutes after being played in by Ozil, however, the Gabon international fired straight at Jack Butland in a one-on-one situation.
Aubameyang was not to be denied in the 75th minute, though, when the Gunners were awarded a penalty, which the striker duly converted, 1-0.
The win was sealed with four minutes remaining as Aubameyang completed his brace with a composed finish into the bottom corner.
The Gunners were awarded another penalty in the 89th minute as Lacazette was brought down. The Frenchman stepped up and converted the spot-kick to round off a good win.
