Arsenal extended their unbeaten run to 21 matches in all competitions after defeating Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the English Premier League on Saturday. The Gunners were pushing for a return to winning ways after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester United on Wednesday evening. Unai Emery's men enjoyed a lion's share of the possession from the onset, but they found it tough to break down the the Huddersfield defence. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should have put the home side ahead after 29 minutes, but the Gabonese forward somehow placed his effort wide form six-yards out. The hosts had the ball in the back of the net in the 42nd minute through Alexandre Lacazette 's close range finish, but Frenchman was flagged offside. Five minutes into the second half, Huddersfield carved out their first opening as Alex Pritchard drove into the box before forcing Bernd Leno into a fine save. The hosts were dealt a blow in the 66th minute when defender Mustafi had to be forced off with an injury, although Nacho Monreal made his return to the side. The Gunners were made to wait for the goal but they rewarded in the 83rd minute, with midfielder Lucas Torreira finding the back of the net with an acrobatic effort. Huddersfield threw bodies forward in the remaining stages of the second, but Emery's men held on to claim a vital three points.
