Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has been urged to leave the club in January following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Report: Big-Money Newcastle Want Man Utd Star As First Signing
The Uruguayan has seemingly lost his starting role to the Portuguese striker, who rejoined the club from Juventus in the final week of the latest transfer window.
With Cavani having started on the bench for both of his national team's 2020 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this past week, former Uruguay and Chelsea star Gus Poyet feels it would be better if his compatriot left Old Trafford.
"He was unlucky, because without Ronaldo coming in, he was playing as the main striker," Poyet told talkSPORT.
"The decision of Juventus, Man City getting involved, incredibly went against one person especially – and that was Cavani.
"Maybe he should move in January.
"From the outside, I don't know him, but if I was him, seeing how things are now, and seeing him not getting to 90 minutes for the national team because he's not playing – maybe."
