'Dead To Me' – Furious Reaction To Klopp's Latest Job

There has been a furious reaction to Jurgen Klopp's decision to accept his latest job offer.

The former Liverpool manager, who has been without a role since departing Anfield at the end of last season, is set to become the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull in January.

Red Bull owns five football sides around the world, including well-known clubs such RB Leipzig in Germany, New York Red Bulls in the United States and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

In their announcement, the company clarified Klopp's role, stating he will focus on supporting sports directors, advancing the Red Bull philosophy, and utilising his network to scout top talent while aiding in the development of coaches.

However, the move has not been well-received by some, especially among fans of Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, where Klopp spent significant time before his Liverpool move in 2015.

RB Leipzig are often viewed with disdain by rival supporters due to its ownership model, which many feel undermines traditional club values in Germany.

The backlash from Dortmund supporters has been particularly intense. Freelance Bundesliga reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt shared sentiments from fans, with comments such as "Football is dead" and "He's absolutely dead to me" surfacing on social media.

According to Liverpool.com, one podcaster even noted that the move allows BVB fans to finally close the chapter on the Klopp era, freeing them from nostalgic sentiments that have lingered long after his seven-year stint at the club between 2008 and 2015.

One frustrated Dortmund supporter articulated this sentiment, stating: "Klopp has always presented himself as a traditionalist, and this move says it all". The future of Klopp's relationship with fans thus remains uncertain as he takes on this new role.
