Arsenal Launch Kevin De Bruyne Investigation

An investigation has been launched by Arsenal after Kevin De Bruyne was thrown with objects during their 3-1 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Messi 'Tempted' To Join Shock Club

The Belgian playmaker had to dodge several missiles thrown at him by Gunners supporters while making his way back to the City bench ahead of his 87th-minute substitution.

The 31-year-old jokingly brushed the incident off by posting pictures of himself being pelted with cups of beer on Instagram, captioning one with the words, "Beer anyone?".

While De Bruyne made light of the situation, Arsenal and the English FA are taking the matter seriously, with the north London side releasing a statement insisting they will punish the fans involved.

"We are studying CCTV and if we are able to identify the culprits, they will be subject to strict sanctions," the statement read, as per Goal.

"This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

The Belgium international was the architect of Arsenal's downfall at the Emirates Stadium after he scored the game's opener and then assisted Erling Haaland's goal for City's third later in the match.

The victory means the Citizens have now beaten the side from the English capital in their past 11 league meetings, the Gunners' longest losing run against an opponent in their league history.

Haaland 'Decides' Next Destination After Man City

The reigning champions have now jumped to the top of the table, on goal difference, for the first time since November as they look to maintain and become only the second side to win three successive EPL titles.
