Last season, the Gunners had a lot of their goals being spread out across their forward line, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard all hitting double figures.
However, seemingly in an attempt to continue competing with Manchester City, the north Londoners have reportedly made acquiring a world-class striker a priority.
As per FootballTransfer.com, the 13-time English champions have begun discussions with Napoli over the future signing of their talisman Victor Osimhen.
At the beginning of the window, the 24-year-old was linked with a move to the English top flight, with clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea all rumoured to be keen on the forward's services.
Those rumours have since cooled down as the Lagos native is still a Napoli player, while he has already continued his remarkable form from last season into the new campaign, scoring three goals in his team's opening two Serie A games.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that Paris Saint-Germain are likely the only team that could afford the Super Eagle in this transfer window, with the abovementioned report suggesting that Arsenal are hoping to lure the west African to the Emirates Stadium in 2024.
Osimhen currently has two years remaining on his contract in Italy, and is said to be willing to reject an extension at the club in the hopes of completing a dream move to the Premier League.

The same report suggests that Gunners sporting director Edu Gaspar has been given encouragement by the forward's agent, Roberto Calenda, that a future move could come to fruition.
