Former Ballon d'Or winner, Barcelona legend and Mamelodi Sundowns manager, Hristo Stoichkov has insulted Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of El Clasico.
Messi Could Score 400th Barca Goal In El Clasico
When asked about Ronaldo's rivalry with Lionel Messi in an interview, Stoichkov made his opinion on who the better player is loud and clear.
"I don't have any doubt that Messi is better," he told Marca. "Winning a Ballon d'Or one season means that you did well, but you shouldn't compare a legend with a player who's practically at the end of his career."
Stoichkov's criticism did not end with the 2014 Ballon d'Or winner either. He also made clear that he doesn't care for Real Madrid as a club, before concluding with his thoughts on Sunday's El Clasico.
"Why should Real Madrid mean anything to me?" he said when asked about the capital club.
"(El Clasico) is more than three points. If Barcelona win, then the league is theirs. If they play like they did on Wednesday, then Real Madrid will find it very tough."
Stoichkov made 254 appearances for Barcelona in two separate spells with the club, scored 118 goals and also won the 1994 Ballon d'Or.
