Brazil Star Fires Back At Ronaldinho's Shock Remarks

One Brazil star has fired back at Ronaldinho's comments about the national team ahead of the Copa America.

The former Barcelona star came out with some surprising remarks, claiming the current state of the national side is not good enough.

The 2002 World Cup winner also stated he won't be supporting his home nation in the tournament regardless of the result.

Current Brazil attacker Raphinha responded to the legend and claims Ronaldinho asked Vinicius for tickets.

"Vinicius told me that Ronaldinho had requested tickets to see our games," Raphinha told reporters, as per Goal.

"It's surprising to hear such strong words from someone we all look up to.

"We respect Ronaldinho for what he has achieved, but this is a new generation with different strengths. We need encouragement and constructive criticism, not just negativity.

"We are working hard to bring glory back to Brazil. I think you must know more than I do, he never made such a statement [to us]. On the contrary, he always showed his support for the team.

"I consider him an idol, a reference. Everyone in the team, not just the players, but everyone who works here, sees him as a reference. It has been a hard blow for us.

"Obviously we do not agree. It's my third year and I see dedication, desire, [and] pride in wearing the shirt. I do not agree with what was said, I totally disagree, each one has quality, merit."
