The match is scheduled to get underway at 23h30. (South African time)

Since their loss to the Netherlands in the third/fourth play-off tie at the 2014 World Cup, Brazil have gone on a 11-game winning run.

Selecao were a dealt a few blows before the tournament got underway, as the likes of Marcelo, Danilo and Luis Gustavo had to withdraw through injury, while Chelsea 's Oscar did make the squad.

Brazil last reached the Copa America final in 2007, when they defeated Argentina 3-0 in the final. While, they only made it to the quarterfinal stage at the 2011 edition.

Peru, meanwhile, come into this tournament as minnows, although they will be looking to make a good impression as they did four years ago.

Ricardo Gareca will be looking to his European based stars,  Paolo Guerrero, Jefferson Farfan and Claudio Pizarro, to use their experience. The trio have 199 caps and 58 goals between them.

Peru impressed at the 2011 edition in Argentina, as they surprised everyone and finished in third spot.

In 11 matches, Brazil have never lost a match to Peru, with the five-time World Champions winning on eight occasions.

The last time these two sides met was in 2009 and a brace from Luis Fabiano helped Brazil to a 3-0 win over Peru.
