Brazil Players Consider Boycotting 2021 Copa America

There on-going drama surrounding the 2021 Copa America continues as the Brazil players reportedly want to boycott the tournament after the host country was changed.

Argentina and Colombia were expected to co-host the tournament but they decision was changed due to the high Covid-19 cases in both countries.

It was then announced the tournament will be hosted in Brazil, a decision that does not sit well with Selecao as the coronavirus infection rate is still quite high.

Brazil midfielder Casemiro says everyone in the squad against the idea but more will be explain after their 2022 World Cup qualifier against Paraguay on Tuesday.

"Everyone knows our position in the Copa America in Brazil," the Brazil captain on Friday night, as per Goal.

"It could not be clearer. We want to express our opinion more after the game against Paraguay [on June 8].

"It's not just me, not just the players who play in Europe. It's everyone, including Tite. All together."

Spanish publicatio Marca reported that Uruguay are also considering a boycott, with a couple of players having already voiced their opinion.
