2015 Copa America Wrap

Mexico v Bolivia

Mexico began the Copa America campaign with a 0-0 draw against Bolivia on Friday.

The Mexicans have left star strikers, Carlos Vela and Javier Hernandez, as they are will compete in the Gold Cup next month.

Bolivia had most of the chances, particularly in the first half, although they failed to capatilise on those efforts.

Mexico's best effort arrived in the second half when Atletico Madrid's Raul Jimenez headed just wide of the upright.

Miguel Herrera's side were dealt a blow midway through the second when captain, Rafael Marquez, had to be replaced through injury.

Bolivia's winless run in the competition has continued, stretching back to 1997, while Mexico lost all three matches at the 2011 Copa America.

Mexico will now entertain Chile in their next clash, while Bolivia take on Ecuador on the same day.
