Erik ten Hag made wholesale changes from the win over Southampton, as Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot were the only players to keep their spot in the side while Casemiro was named captain.

The Red Devils dominated from the early proceedings and managed to take the lead on 16 minutes when a well-worked counter attack ended with Rashford skipping past one challenge before firing home.

It was one-way traffic in the first period, with Ten Hag's charges dominating and new signing Manuel Ugarte showing his ball-winning abilities in the middle of the park.

The Red Devils were afforded the chance to double their advantage ten minutes before the break when Antony won a penalty after being fouled by goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina. The Brazilian stepped up himself and confidently dispatched the spot-kick for his first goal of the season.

There was enough time for United to grab a third goal on the stroke of halftime when the ricocheted into the path of Alejandro Garnacho, who poked the ball into the far corner.

The hosts continued from where they left off in the first half, as a neat passing move ended with Christian Eriksen sending Garnacho through on goal to slot home his second and United's fourth of the night.

The Red Devils pounced once again as Rashford grabbed his second goal of the night after latching onto Garnacho's through-ball before calmly slotting past Slonina.

With home side comfortably leading, Ten Hag re-shuffled the pack for the final 25 minutes as Joshua Zirkzee, Bruno Fernandes and Noussair Mazraoui were introduced in place of Rashford, Ugarte and Diogo Dalot.

Eriksen got his name on the score-sheet with ten minutes to play in the second period as Fernandes turned provider to put the ball on the plate for the Dane to tap home, before the midfielder rounded off the scoring two minutes later to complete his brace.
