Southampton 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool booked their spot in the semi-finals after edging Southampton 2-1 at St. Mary's Stadium on Wednesday.

The Reds were without Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, as Harvey Elliot, Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister supported lone striker Darwin Nunez upfront.

Nunez broke the deadlock for Liverpool midway through the first stanza with a clinical finish in the box from a cross.

Elliot was as clinical for Arne Slot's charges just after the half-hour mark, as he doubled their lead from a square pass by Gakpo.

Cameron Archer pulled a goal back for Southampton just before the hour-mark.

However, The Reds held their nerve in the closing stages to go through to the semi-finals.

Arsenal 3-2 Crystal Palace

Arsenal are through to the semi-finals after a narrow 3-2 win over Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners had wholesale changes, with Jorginho, Raheem Sterling, Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney one experienced changes brought in.

Palace grabbed an early lead through Jean-Philippe Mateta after a mistake at the back by Arsenal.

Gabriel Jesus only equalised early in the second stanza for Mikel Arteta's charges with a chip over goalkeeper Dean Henderson who was off his line.

Jesus gave the Gunners the lead on 73 minutes and got his brace with a close-range finish after a cut-back by Bukayo Saka.

Jesus made it 3-1 for the hosts and completed his hat-trick nine minutes before time after he was setup by Martin Odegaard.

Eddie Nketiah pulled a goal back for The Eagles a moment later with a close-range header against his former team but Arsenal held in to a narrow win.

Newcastle United 3-1 Brentford

Newcastle United went through to the last four after thrashing Brentford 3-1 at St. James' Park.

Sandro Tonali gave Newcastle an early lead from a rebound in the box.

Tonali ensured The Magpies head to the break with a two-goal cushion and completed his brace with a finish from a cross by Anthony Gordon following a corner situation.

Bruno Guimaraes made it 3-0 for Eddie Howe's charges with 21 minutes remaining from a scramble in the box.

Yoane Wissa scored a consolation goal for Brentford in stoppages with a tap-in from a cut-back by Bryan Mbeumo.
