Arsenal and Manchester City will go head-to-head for the first piece of major silverware of the season in the Carabao Cup final this evening.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 18h30.

City's quadruple hopes were dashed last Monday when they went down 1-0 to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup and will be looking to learn from their mistakes against a much more tougher opposition.

This is the first ever meeting between the two sides in a major final, but Arsenal have beaten the Sky Blues twice in both their matches at Wembley Stadium, winning 3-0 in the Community Shield in 2014 and also 2-1 in last season's FA Cup semi-final.

City have appeared six times in the League Cup final, winning the previous five and only failing to win in 1974.

Fabian Delph is suspended for City which sees Danilo handed a start as Benjamin Mendy is still out with a long term injury.

Guardiola has confirmed that second-choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo will retain his place in goals having featured in all domestic cup games this season.

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, will also be looking to win the League Cup for the first time in his reign at Arsenal as the Carabao Cup remains the only missing peace of silverware in his trophy cabinet.

Wenger's charges lost the 2011 edition of the League Cup to Birmingham City despite entering the match as overwhelming favorites.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could not play on Thursday as he was ineligible for the London club  in the Europa League, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan won't feature today as he is cup tied.

Alexandre Lacazette and Santi Cazorla both remain on the sidelines with a knee injury and Achilles respectively.

Here's how they line up:

Arsenal: Ospina; Bellerin, Mustafi, Chambers, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey; Özil; Aubameyang.

Man City: Bravo; Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Danilo; Fernandinho, Silva; Gundogan, De Bruyne, Sane; Aguero.
