Venue: Wembley Stadium

Marcus Rashford was passed fit for the final, as Erik Ten Hag recalled Antony and Diogo Dalot in place of Jadon Sancho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

For Newcastle, Loris Karius came in the for the suspended Nick Pope between the goals, while Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson were also recalled.

The game's first chance fell to the Red Devils when Wout Weghorst did well to shrugged off a couple challenges in the box, but his scuffed shot was saved by Karius.

The Magpies had to wait until the 25th minute for an opening in the box when Kieran Tripper's cross found Fabian Schar, who headed over the crossbar from close range.

The Red Devils survived a scare six minutes later when Alan Saint-Maximan did well to skip past Dalot before seeing his strike palmed away by David de Gea.

The men from Manchester went ahead soon after Casemiro got on the end of Luke Shaw's free-kick and nodded into the far corner with his first goal in the competition.

The lead was doubled on 39 minutes as Weghorst drove towards the box before playing in Rashford, who took one touch before seeing his shot deflect over Karius.

Both sides made a change at the start of the second half, as Wan Bissaka repalced Dalot who was on a yellow card while Newcastle threw on Alexander Isak for Sean Longstaff.

The Red Devils still looked the livelier of the two sides in the second half, with Fred passing up a good chance on the break by firing wide from the edge of the box.

With Newcastle getting more into the clash, they had a couple sights at goal in the 67th minute as Joelinton was denied by Wan-Bissaka before Lisandro Martinez pulled off a fine block on the rebound.

Ten Hag responded by making a double change for the final 20 minutes, as Weghorst and Fred made way for Marcel Sabitzer and Scott McTominay to bolster the midfield.

Sabitzer made his presence felt almost immediately as he won possession in the middle of the park and played in Rashford, who cut inside before seeing his shot saved by Karius.

Newcastle went close to pulling one back in the 87th minute when Jacob Murphy was afforded space to pick his spot, but his shot swerved inches wide of the upright.
